Hi there. I bought the utility to disable Windows Updates for as long as I wanted to. I clicked the DISABLE ALL UPDATES (red font, warning!) and it’s been doing its job for nearly a year now. However, I want to go ahead and do a round of updates manually so I’ve run the utility and set it to default settings, rebooted, and Windows Update still won’t work. Tried default settings multiple times. The Powershell window says it’s successful but still not working. I’ve done manual resetting of Windows update with powershell commands. All went through successfully but no luck. Might try Tweaking (app) and see if that helps, but any advice would be helpful. Thank you.
have u tried windows update reset in the config tab in winutil?
Good suggestion, thank you. Just did it, rebooted, no action. I then created an alternative Windows user account to see if it was a local policy thing, but no, it won’t update there either. Oh well, I’ll reload Windows someday and rebuild all my stuff, no big deal. I see the feature updates that come through on all my customer’s computers and I’m not missing out on anything there, haha.
no prob. if u done the reset try then doing default settings to see if that works. if not i would recommend after doing the fresh install. just do the security updates.
For sure. Before I go setting everything else up I’ll test enabling and disabling security updates. Thank you Scotsman.
