Discord: wifi drivers not installing

Discord: reverieviee: <@1241733596528771073> here

Discord: reverieviee: Do you mind providing a bit more context? What options did you select in the Win11 Creator?

Discord: toujisaku: sorry i forgot what i chose, but what options should i not chose for wifi drivers to install normally? the laptop doesn’t have an ethernet port and usb tethering doesn’t work either. thank you

Discord: reverieviee: I assume you selected to inject drivers, and everything went fine in the ISO creation process?

Discord: toujisaku: i didn’t select to inject drivers, but strangely it errored when choosing to burn it onto the usb so i had to download the iso and burn it myself using balena

Discord: reverieviee: Yeah, the error should be fixed in the latest version of winutil. I believe it was released to everyone not too long ago. Were you expecting the wifi driver to be pre-installed, or is there an error when you try to install it?

Discord: toujisaku: i was at least expecting to be able to connect normally to the wifi, but it doesn’t work even if i download the chipset drivers or the realtek/intel drivers either from the official support page of my device. when was the latest version of winutil released? my last installation was about a week ago. should i choose to inject the drivers even if my desktop has an amd cpu and my laptop an intel cpu?

Discord: reverieviee: I wouldn’t inject drivers no, they’re not going to match for different hardware. Last release was 4 days ago :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: No worries though. Which laptop model do you have?

Discord: toujisaku: asus vivobook x1504za

Discord: reverieviee: And I assume you downloaded this driver?

Discord: reverieviee: Did it actually install if you try to find it on Device Manager → Network adapters?

Discord: toujisaku: i tried to but it wouldn’t want to find it, should i put it into a dedicated folder where there aren’t any other driver files?

Discord: reverieviee: I’m not sure what you mean by that. The download is an exe and should install itself, did you reboot after installing?

Discord: toujisaku: oh yeah several times for the chipset drivers as well. sorry i thought you meant when right clicking a driver in the device manager and selecting to update manually

Discord: reverieviee: Hmm, that’s odd. So just to confirm, in the action menu there’s no wifi whatsoever?

Discord: toujisaku: nope, can’t turn on not even the airplane mode

Discord: toujisaku: i’ll try to reinstall it with the newest version

Discord: toujisaku: but in my bios i can connect to the wifi, so idk what’s going on

Discord: reverieviee: yeah i would manually uninstall the driver in device manager, and then try the newer one. if that doesn’t work i can do some more digging around online to see if i find anything related to ur laptop model

Discord: toujisaku: i tried that as well but nothing, also it doesn’t even say realtek and the other network devices are all WAN something
